Today, I am asking the citizens of District 1 for the opportunity to serve them with that kind of persistence, that kind of passion and that kind of leadership.

Reading proficiency by third grade is essential for public school students. It transitions them from learning to read to reading to learn, enabling them to grasp more complex subjects. Early reading skills are strongly linked to higher academic achievement and reduced dropout rates in later years.
I aim to advocate for teachers at all levels, including veteran teachers and those who work with the most challenging students. I will work towards enhancing support and acknowledgment for these crucial educators, ensuring they have the resources they need to succeed.
I am supporting Denise Norman as the Midland ISD School (MISD) Board District 1 candidate. Denise has children in MISD and is active in supporting them and their schools. She is a person who is not afraid to have an opinion and to use her platform to voice support or concern when an issue is brought forth. We need board members who want the best for all students in the school district and are not running for the position just to promote an agenda of discourse. That doesn’t mean that the policies of the district don’t need to be challenged or questioned at times, which Denise is more than capable of doing when necessary, but she is also someone who is not afraid to openly voice her support and encouragement when it is needed as well. Denise Norman is a person of character who wants to be an active member of the school board and it is for these reasons that I am endorsing her candidacy for Midland ISD School Board District 1. I proudly endorse Denise Norman for the Midland ISD School Board, District 1. Denise is an engaged parent and community member who is genuinely concerned about our district and the success of all students. As a mother, district volunteer, and member of several boards and committees, she brings a unique perspective to the school board that will make her an exceptional board member. Her willingness to listen to understand and ability to create and maintain healthy relationships throughout the community are just a few attributes that I admire and believe make her the perfect candidate for this position.
Denise is the right person for the job, her intentions are pure, and she will represent District 1 students, parents, and teachers well. As a friend, I’ve witnessed her advocate for children even long before her announcing to run for a member on the school board.
